songwriters round 2, 27th june 2002, no black tie...

-report-

performed at Songwriter's Round 2 last night at No Black Tie, Kuala Lumpur... organiser of the event, Pete Teo (one hell of a musician, a brilliant songwriter and very popular in KL)... took a gamble and gave me my first ever live gig in KL...

before last night, my last live acoustic gig was with Monopop at Keynestock, Canterbury in June 1999... I think...

back to last night... shared the stage with Rafique Rashid (KL's very own living legend), Sherry (rock n' roll!!!) and Daryl Koh (it was his first gig as well)...

i was nervous as hell and seeing the other guys warm up and jam before the show DID NOT help at all... i felt sooooo small... more so than usual... (stop laughing Ken!)...

i played six songs last night... three in the first set with What Should I Say, She Once Said (Rafique helped out by singing harmony on the chorus... and that was so cool... thanks dude...), No Title...

another three in the 2nd set with  It Took A While, Round And Round and i closed with my very own Malay love song Lautan Menari...

the night was a blast and the rest of the guys were absolutely brilliant but i have to admit that it was definitely not my best performance... oh well... some other time hopefully... and i miss Makoto!!!!... dude, come to Malaysia and play (guitar) with me again!!!!

and a big thank you to all my friends who came to watch the show...

extra thanks to Suzana for "roadie-ing" for me (puke green coloured small t-shirt coming up...) and Ken for the nice digital pics...
